Bothprimary as well as secondary schools spread across Malaysia will be closed in this year. The holidays announced are based on Malaysia School Holiday 2026 calendar. School Holidays 2026 Malaysia

The official school holiday dates as announced by the Ministry is further classified into two groups, namely Group A and Group B. With reference to School Holidays Malaysia with First Day of School and Last Day of School, the schools in Group A are closed in states, like Kedah, Johor, Kelantan, and Terengganu, for the year. The school holidays are divided into mid-term holiday 1, mid-year holiday, mid-term holiday 2, and year-end holiday. In each category, the school is closed for a specific number of days.

Similarly, with reference to the Malaysia School Calendar, the schools in Group B states, like Perlis, Pulau Pinang, Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, and Putrajaya, are closed for the year. It can be seen that the holiday closure in these Group B destinations is classified intomid-term holiday 1, mid-year holiday, mid-term holiday 2, and year-end holiday. Through the Ministry of Education Malaysia, official notification of holidays for 2026, under each term, the schools are closed for a specific number of days.

While referring to the School Schedule 2026 Malaysia, the schools are closed forobserving festival holidays in the year. For this year, the holidays observed include Deepavali, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, and the Chinese New Year. In 2026, holidays are observed byall the schools falling under schools located under Group B states.
